Millebo school started with education for children in 1888, in the old church-house (Millegården), and 1921 was the year when most of the buildings in Millebo were built. That was when Josefin's great grandfather and great grandmother moved into the house called "Lärarbostaden", i.e. "the teacher residence". Millebo School closed in 1965, which was when Josefin's family bought it from the municipality. Josefin's grandad, Karl-Eric (top-left picture, waving!), lived there full-time from 2004 until his passing in 2024. Now, Viktor & Josefin, together with Josefin's sister Rebecka, rent his old apartment in Lärarbostaden as a summer residence.
The rest of the buildings are summer houses which Josefins family uses.
Sjöarp is another summer residence near Millebo with a few buildings that belongs to Josefin's family. The big yellow house shown in the pictures above used to be a Guest House in the early 1900s.
Below the houses is a tennis court where the relatives meet up each year for a tournament. Continuing passed the tennis court you can find a small swimming place by the lake called Övrasjön. Perfect for a morning dip!
Skirö is a small village in central Småland and where we are getting married. The world famous botanist Carl Linnaeus dubbed this area "The garden of Småland" because of it's rich flora and varying landscape.
In the summer, there are usually children who run a small café van, and the retirement club is really strong with a lot of activities (not that we know anything about that...). There is also a boule court below Skirögården.
